Michael Aram at Urban Country

Michael Aram's beautiful metal worked pieces are at Urban Country!

Michael Aram is an American born artist who works primarily in metal. After studying fine art and living as an artist in New York in the late 1980's, Aram took what would later be a life-altering trip to India where he discovered rich metalworking traditions. Inspired to work with craftsmen whose skills he felt were greatly untapped, Aram turned his creative energies towards craft based design, setting up a home and workshop in New Delhi.

For many, figs are evocative of Northern California and its spectacular wine country's lush landscape and epicurean environment. The fruit's deep, intense coloration and clean, rich flavors seem to typify the lifestyle and its sense of warmth and plenty. Meals are prepared casually and are often served beautifully in the open air surrounded by nature. Outdoor entertaining is an integral part of everyday life there. The Fig collection celebrates this very lifestyle, and its welcoming way of elegant, yet casual, entertaining

The Olive Branch Collection takes its inspiration from the intricacies of form and texture found in foliage from around the world.

The Botanical Leaf Kitchen Collection is based on one of Michael's most beloved motifs. Michael felt that pieces which are generally left out on kitchen counter and table tops should be as decorative as they are highly functional

The Garland Collection is built on classical shapes with very delicate sculpture which depicts two different flowers growing from the same vine. The sense of romance combined with formal shapes, make them perfect heirlooms for important celebrations, yet the artisanal, hand-sculpted characteristics of the pieces and their easy-to-maintain quality make them ready for enjoyment in everyday life.

These accessories are even more beautiful in person, and make wonderful wedding, and housewarming gifts. And we know you'll find something you will love for yourself, as well!

Throws For Summer and All Year Long

Years ago, GREEN was just a color. Today, it represents a different kind of lifestyle.
The new throws we just received are about as green as you can get! But don't let their "green-ness" fool you into thinking that makes them less desirable. These throws are soft and beautiful. Urban Country would settle for nothing less. Urban Country likes perfection.

A lot of their throws come in "baby colors." Light blues and pinks that are perfect for your little one's room, and go great with any nursery decor.

In2green products are made from sustainable yarns, often using cotton from recycled t-shirts. Clippings from apparel manufacturers are sorted and blended by color before being spun into new yarns, eliminating the need for added dyes and chemicals.
In2green products are 100% sweatshop free, made in the USA and Central America. All of their throws are machine washable- even better!

A portion of all their proceeds goes to help educate students, and to organizations such as Leave No Trace, which reminds us all to protect our natural environment.

And did we mention that they are beautiful?

Please join us to support products that have a lesser impact on the environment. If we all do our part, we know there can be a better lifestyle for everyone!
Stop in today to see these beautiful throws for yourself!

Mud Australia

We just know you are going to love our new dinnerware. Mud Australia is a porcelain manufacturer based in Sydney, Australia, and was started by Shelley Simpson in 1994.

Sold worldwide at style leading stores, Mud Australia is recognized for its unique blend of color, materials, process and design. All pieces are complimentary, and are designed to emphasize natural lines and functionality.

Each piece is hand-made using the best materials available. The color is tinted through the porcelain clay to provide a color depth not available from surface glazing. Clear glaze is then applied to the interior of each piece, leaving the exterior with a vitrified stone-like surface that becomes smooth with handling .

All of Mud Australia's porcelain is oven, microwave, dishwasher, and food safe, making it ideal for domestic and commercial use at the table and in the kitchen.

Come in and check out this great new line, and let us help you design your tablescape for your next party!

Vintage At Heart

This company started in the founder's garage, and her one-of -a -kind pieces have grown to be popular and well-loved.

No two pieces are alike, and all are from some part of a retired wine barrel. We love every piece we sell!

These lazy susans are made from the lids of retired wine barrels! The cooperage stamps vary on all of them, and they start at $140, and go up to $175; what a great price for these beautifully unique pieces!

This one is our favorite. It is handcrafted from the "bottom of the barrel", and is stained red from storing some of the finest red wines. Perfect for serving cheese and fruits!

This dark one has a stamp as well, and it is much more rustic. This dark finish will blend perfectly with your antiques and old world decor.

And we also have these handcrafted retired wine barrel stave baskets. The inside of the basket is stained from housing the finest wine, and the outside of the basket is finished to complement your home. This would look great on your farm style table, and we think it would look great on your coffee table as a magazine rack, as well!
