Race For Hope

On Sunday, May 2nd, thousands will gather together over a cause: to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors.

Ten years ago, Jeffrey Roth, the founder of Urban Country, lost his valiant battle against brain cancer. Diagnosed twelve years ago with the most aggressive of brain cancers, doctors gave him no more than six months to live, however, his strong will and determination helped him to prove doctors wrong, and he fought bravely, with grace and dignity, for nearly two years.

Jeffrey was an inspiration to all who knew him, and was known for his humor, and fun-loving personality.

Just as many looked to Jeffrey for inspiration, he drew his own inspiration from one of his favorite "celebrities." Goofy, Micky Mouse's silly sidekick, held a special place in Jeffrey's heart. He loved Goofy's laugh, his crazy antics, and his never-ending ability to make people smile. Our team, "Jeffrey's Goofy Gang," was created to honor Jeffrey and celebrate his zest for life. Caring and helping people was a huge part of Jeffrey's life, and we know that he would have loved nothing more than to know that the money raised in his name will one day save the life of another human being.





This Sunday, May 2nd, we will gather once again in Jeffrey's memory, to honor him and those like him, who have fought so valiantly against this disease, in a race for life, a race for Hope!

The race for hope started thirteen years ago, and is one of Washington DC's most successful volunteer events, and is one of the country's largest fundraisers for the brain tumor community, raising over nine million in twelve years. Nearly ten thousand people came out last year, and we expect an even bigger turn out this year, including American Idol David Cook, who also participated last year!

Sticks-Creative Art

Sticks began in 1992 when Sarah Grant started designing smaller items, such as ornaments, and candlesticks, and has evolved to feature larger items such as dining sets, beds and armoires!

Each piece is hand-crafted in their award-winning studio in Iowa, and all pieces are crafted from birch, poplar, and driftwood. The pieces are then further designed with hand drawn imagery, etched contouring, and vibrantly blended paint. The sticks line is constantly evolving due to their amazing design team, and their many talented craft artisans. One of our favorite things about Sticks is that ALL of their pieces can be completely customized. Get Outside!

Lee Industries has brought us something new to get excited about this summer!



Uncovered, their new outdoor line, offers fully upholstered outdoor furniture. This new line is made in the USA, and uses performance fabrics that are fade, stain, water, uv, and mildew resistant. What we think is super cool is how the frame of the chair is built. The seat decks are specially built to slope, and has a drain built into the frame! The whole thing is built with water drainage in mind, while being beautiful and comfortable at the same time.
